This post is for all of our friends and family who are eager to "see" our living situation. We live on-base in a fourplex (one of the middle units). These photos are BEFORE we take delivery of our household goods.
Inside the front door: shoes off upon entry, after Japanese custom. Stairs lead to the 2nd floor. The hallway is directly ahead (see below).
Hallway leading to living room at end. 1st door on left is into kitchen. 2nd door on left is guest 1/2 bath. Door on right is coat closet and storage under the stairs.
Eat-in kitchen (no dining room) from the door in the hallway. The accordian curtains on the right hide our washer/dryer. Yes, everything is gray--cabinets, floor, walls, tile. On the plus side, our kitchen is 3x larger than any we saw off-base. We also have a garbage disposal, dishwasher, and endless hot water on demand (not that we would waste such a precious resource).
Living room looking into the kitchen.
Living room from kitchen door. The door on the right connects to the hallway. Our makeshift office is behind the fence. Phone and computer set up on the coffee table, with a pillow on the floor as the chair.
