Sapporo: Part IV

Day 3: Waiting for the subway. Ricky was tired and the day hadn't even started.

On the bus to the Tsu Dome site.

Bowling game.

A golf-type game, except rolled by hand.

Posing with an army of snowmen.

The 60th Anniversary Sapporo Snow Festival Mascot (there was a pink one too).

Tubing down a snow slide; Ricky was not laughing.

Indoor games: attempting the hula hoop.

Lunch at the food court. Another chocolate dipped banana, but this one after a bowl of udon noodles in broth. (Really, sweets are such a rare treat that's why they end up in the pics.)

Riding the mini-Shinkansen (bullet train), probably the highlight of the entire trip for Ricky. After riding with Daddy, he asked to go round two more times by himself.

On our way home. Ricky was tuckered out and fell asleep in the backpack about five minutes after we loaded him up.

Downtown Sapporo outside our hotel (Ricky is sound asleep on Rick's back).

After nap time, I was trying to wake Ricky to dress him for dinner and our evening out. He made it through a diaper change and halfway into his snowsuit before he opened his eyes.

Rick eating scallops on the half shell again--cooking at our table.

Our very attentive and patient waiter. Renee enjoyed a delicious seaweed salad, and Ricky ate tamago (egg) with shrimp and green onions.

Rick was in shellfish heaven; scallops and enormous crab legs all in one night.

The TV tower landmark at one end of the snow sculptures.

Rick ice skating.

One of the prettiest sculptures lit for night.

Day 4: A rest stop along the toll road on our drive home from Aomori Airport.
